About the Author

Edison Mooers is a self-taught programmer who started on a hand-me-down Tandy TRS-80, learning to code from a manual and a proprietary built-in BASIC dialect, with no hard drive and no disk drive. His first professional programming work was written in COBOL.

He holds a Master of Information Technology degree with a concentration in Internet Security, and has spent his career leading engineering teams and designing secure software systems, including security architecture work early in his career that's still in active use today. He currently leads a software engineering organization, and has previously served as a CTO and COO.

He is the creator of QF Code and the QuibbleFox language-learning platform, and the author of Underneath the Syntax. This is his second technical book, and his third book overall.
