1. Personal learning

An individual may read the official online edition, download official editions and companion files when available, print a personal copy, and copy or modify the handbook's code examples for personal learning. Individuals may link to the official handbook and may share their own original QF Code programs.

2. Qualifying noncommercial educational use

Public and nonprofit schools, colleges, universities, libraries, youth programs, and community education programs may use the official handbook without a fee. Instructors may assign the official website, display it during instruction, and provide unmodified official downloads or printed copies directly to learners they teach.

Copyright and use notices must remain intact. The handbook may not be repackaged, rebranded, sold, posted publicly as a separate copy, or incorporated substantially into materials offered for resale.

3. Uses that require written commercial permission

Written permission and a commercial license are required for employer or corporate training, internal workforce development, paid bootcamps, commercial tutoring, consultant-led workshops, paid online courses, LMS distribution, certification programs, train-the-trainer programs, branded or adapted editions, and any course or product built substantially around the handbook.

A commercial license is also required to reproduce, distribute, adapt, translate, rebrand, or publicly host substantial portions of the handbook outside the official Gibidda Press site and the official QF Code repository.

4. Code examples

Code examples may be copied and modified for personal learning and qualifying noncommercial education under the permissions above. They may not be packaged or redistributed as a standalone instructional library, competing handbook, paid course, training product, or commercial curriculum without written permission.

5. QF Code software is separate

These terms govern The QF Code Handbook, its prose, instructional organization, examples as a curated educational work, companion files, and official downloadable editions. The QF Code interpreter, browser IDE, tests, and other software in the QF Code repository may be governed by separate software-license terms.

6. No redistribution or altered editions

Except for the limited classroom distribution described above, permission is not granted to mirror the complete handbook, publish altered editions, remove copyright notices, sell access, bundle it with another product, or claim authorship or sponsorship by Gibidda Press.

7. Rights provided by law

These terms do not limit rights that apply independently under law, including fair use. No permission beyond the express grants above is implied.

8. No warranty

The handbook, examples, downloads, and browser tools are provided for educational use without warranties. Learners and instructors are responsible for reviewing whether the material is suitable for their circumstances.

9. Permission and commercial licensing

Requests for employer training, workshops, paid courses, adaptations, redistribution, or other commercial uses should be submitted through the Gibidda Press team and training inquiry form. Rights, translation, and publication requests may use the rights and permissions route.

10. Revisions

Gibidda Press may update these terms for later handbook versions or newly released formats. A use already authorized in writing is governed by the permission or agreement issued for that use.
