Edison Mooers is a software engineering leader with more than three decades of experience building software, leading teams, and turning complex requirements into products that ship. His work has ranged from COBOL and desktop applications to modern enterprise architecture, regulated software, and AI-enabled systems.
He began programming as a child on a hand-me-down Tandy TRS-80 with little more than the manual. He later completed bachelor's and master's degrees in Information Technology while working full-time, building a career that combines hands-on technical depth with organizational leadership.
His nonfiction focuses on making difficult technical ideas understandable without making them smaller than they are. Underneath the Syntax grew from that approach, as did QF Code, a beginner-focused programming language designed to make transferable concepts visible.
His children's work takes place in Zolliboo, a world built around wonder, family, and mischief. He writes and illustrates The Zufflekins of Zolliboo series. Outside publishing, his work also includes music, practical software tools, and the QuibbleFox language-learning platform.
